Together we can find better ways to improve sickle cell patient’s access to quality healthcare and support. Specialized Sickle Cell Disease health care providers with comprehensive expertise are scarce, particularly in low-income rural communities with limited resources. The increase of mortality rates for Sickle Cell Warriors transitioning from pediatric to adult care is driven by limited access to specialized care in the adult setting and quality health care improvements would address this disparity.
